Week 5, FYP 2 : Workshop 1(Thesis Writing and Proposal Writing)

Update week 5

Basically, for every semester, workshop 1 will be held to give a briefing on how to write Chapter 1 until chapter 3. For Fyp1, I am already done writing on proposal report that contains all those chapters.

But, during the fyp2 session, there's are some changing methods during the progress of making the project. So all the work progress needs to be updated in the writing of the methodology.

Here the things that are needs to be updated in my thesis:

1. The changing of components from the Blood pressure sensor to the body temperature sensor.

2. Upgrading the flowchart and circuit diagram of the project.

3. Costs of the project

4. Sketching of the final product

For this week, I started to update my thesis writing starting from chapter 3 and continuing to chapters 4 and 5. Besides focusing on doing a hardware implementation, the technical paper also needs to be a concern. So the work progress will be balanced and the project could finish according to the time.

That's all for this week, till we meet again. See ya!

Week 4, FYP 2: Modify Blood Pressure Sensor

Update week 4

For the progress of this week, I have made some modifications to the Blood pressure device. This device was ready-mate equipment that have been sold on the market. The reason I do some modifications on this device is that there's no specific sensor for Blood pressure. Besides, I running out of time regarding the duration to complete this project being only 14 weeks. That's why I choose this method. The type of device that was used is Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor.

As you can see from pictures no.2, I try to connect the wires from Nodemcu esp8266 to the mainboard. Because Nodemcu is a function to transmit the data wirelessly using the internet protocol to the websites. Unfortunately, the device is not functioning very well. I try to troubleshoot the device but it still not working properly.

Other than that, there's no datasheet of this Blood pressure device on the internet, when I do some research. Datasheet of the component or device is very important as references to check its specification and functionality. Because of that, it is hard to do further modifications and troubleshooting on certain parts.
As result of picture no.3, it shows that there's no reading from the Blood pressure sensor. The device was running when I put it on the wrist, but it's doesn't produce any output. So, for the next work progress, I will keep continuing work on this device.

Week 3, FYP 2: Writing Programming Codes for Heartbeat &SpO2

Update week 3

For an update in week 3, I have started to write the programming codes for Heartbeat and SpO2 first. After it's successful working, I will continue to write the coding for Blood pressure.

Here are some of the coding for SpO2;

-The problem that I counter from this coding is, the sensor was not functioning accordingly to what I expected. I need to re-check back the codes and upload them back to the Arduino. There is no such a big error, but the codes are not matching with the sensor.

Heartbeat coding;

- The codes don't show any error, but the problem is the sensor is not giving any data when the circuit is run. I'm quite confusing. I need to re-check back the codes and see how it's work.

So far for this week, I am still in the progress of working with the coding of Heartbeat and SpO2.

Week 2, FYP2 : Workshop 1

Update week 2

In the second week, I attend the Workshop 1 class, which explain the details about the activities through this semester.

Here are some of the notes from the class:

- Presentation Instruction

- Final report submission

Week 14, FYP2 : Submission of Thesis and Technical paper

Update week 14 For progress in week 14, I continued to write the thesis report and technical paper. The submission of these papers is within...
