Week 7, FYP 2: Progress of the circuit project

Update week 7

For the progress of week 7, I try to make a connection of an infrared sensor to the mainboard. It was successful, but still has a minor problems such as:

  • cannot detect temperature readings if the sensor is too close to the human.
  • place a sensor at least 1 cm from the finger or other place of measure, to get the reading.

This sensor is quite sensitive, so it needs to be handled carefully as to avoid any malfunction or zero reading. Besides that, the characteristic of this sensor is to emit an infrared energy beam focused by a lens onto a surface to detect the surface or object's temperature.  The reflected beam is received back in the sensor which converts the energy into an electrical signal that can be displayed in units of temperature.

That's all for this week, till we meet again. See ya!
